Well **** major kudos if he drops the fight and weight to take Ortiz with this short of a notice. Would at least save a fight for Ortiz, should be a nice one too.

That's a good first step from Vanes if he wants to win back aficionados' interest. I hope they make it. :yep

He's full of **** and is likely only saying this because he knows there's no chance this fight will ever happen. I'm generally against giving guys credit for merely calling someone else out as it is, but I'm especially against it in the case of Vanes, the guy with the most lopsided ratio of tough talk to tough (or even acceptable) fights in recent memory.

Should be a good match up. Since it is not for a title, they could come in between 147 and 154.

The weight shouldn't be an issue. Ortiz, is a big WW, was over 160Lbs for Mayweather fight

    To Arum:

Arum, for the good of your fighter Vanes, and for the good of boxing, please swallow your pride and make this fight with GBP. If you won't do it for Pacquaio-Mayweather, at least make this one.

Vanes is a bum who will never win a title and I believe that Ortiz would knock him out ... Martirosyan hasn't even been a full 12 rounds.

Vanes had the opportunity to fight angulo and turned it down. He talks a big game but fights a little one

Why didn't he fight Angulo or Kirkland for a career high payday and chance at a title? ... Why is he a former Olympian a pro for over 7yrs and has yet to fight for a title? ... Why is he struggling against journeymen and fringe contenders?
