This is a decent fight but will be a huge event. Would rather see Mayweather vs Pac or Martinez but this is a good save. I know Cotto is faded but I don't think Mayweather is at his peak anymore either, but he is clearly closer than Cotto. I really like that the fight is at 154 and not some unecessary catch-weight.

Even at their best Mayweather is better than Cotto and at this point the gap is wider. Cotto will have his moments and make it a somewhat entertaining fight but Mayweather wins 8 rounds minimum and a late stoppage is possible.

I also like that its Cotto and not Alvarez. Alvarez will now have time to get in another 2-3 fights against solid opposition(if he gets Mayweather next May) while Mayweather gets a year older. Mayweather-Alvarez in May of 2013 could be a very intriguing fight where now its viewed as a one-sided fight.

What a cockhead you really are!

Sergio is the 3rd best fighter in the world, the best Middle in the world, and someone that would enhance Mayweathers legacy MUCH better than fighting Cotto in 2012.

No Arum... Fight made. Go figure.

Great fight. I hope the weight will allow Cotto to come in there looking his best.

Why do you mention Sergio, this is for Mayweather's May 5th fight and Martinez already has a fight. May 5th will not work for Martinez so forget about it.

Why do you bring up Pac? I've been a big critic of Pac. He's been as much of a ***** has Mayweather recently. And he has absolutely no relevance to the FACT and it is a FACT, that Martinez @ 154 would be a far better victory than this Cotto. Martinez is a P4P top 5 fighter, Cotto isn't even in the P4P list right now.

But I'm wasting my breath on you people. Your homeboy can do no wrong.

Oh Prince, what happened to people having to meet Mayweather at his desired weight? Why aren't you saying Floyd should have brought Cotto down to 147 because he's the draw and he calls the shots?

*****s and *******s are bad for boxing.

You shouldn't bring him up because he has no relevance to the point I made, or this thread. It's not that difficult to grasp....

Would Floyd become lineal champ at 154 if he beats Cotto and Canelo? Isn't Canelo ranked number two at 154 by The Ring?
