This is why i wanted him to fight PBF, hes clearly the next best option behind pacuiao of course. Both of his statements are correct.

 

He fought De La Hoya at 147lbs nearly a year before fighting Cotto.

No, You cannot unshot a shot opponent by destroying him again.
By esb logic Cotto was shot by the time Pac got to him(via margo), So now he is even more shot.

The Margarito defeat effected Cotto. No doubt. I think a pre-Marg Cotto beats Clottey a lot clearer than when they fought.

The loss to Pac effected him also.

It's been 2.5/3 years since these losses, a move up in weight, a string of wins (including avenging one of his 2 defeats).

He's not prime. I'm not trying to argue otherwise, but he's an experienced, seasoned veteran. Who still has a lot of skills to boot.

And the best fight out there for Floyd outside of Pac (which we can argue all day over about why it's not happening) and Martinez (who is booked for March).
