sent an email to a Colombian friend in Queens asking bout the Hyland show last week. Just got a reply The show in my opinion was a total success...obviously being their first show there are things they need to work out. I thought the fights were FNF level and nothing to write home about but again, not too bad for their first fight. Out of the 3 brothers I personally liked Paul Hyland who showed very good ring generalship and pretty good boxing skills. I don't think he is an A level fighter but you don't need to be in order to give the fans a good fight. My only knock is his lack of power. Patrick (Pajo) also did very well against a tricky Lucero who has fought a lot of good names. He has a fan friendly style and mixes boxing with brawling which is great. Eddie is shitty and for the looks of it has been at the Pub way too long...he got upset by a fighter with 9 losses, 5 by KO.
Just about to hit the road for Dublin. Enjoy the fights lads, be it watching it on telly, online, or in the stadium itself :good
This makes no sense, why didnt he wait to find out for sure about Strum before he pulled out of the New York undercard. Now instead of fighting on HBO again looks like he will be stuck with another bum of the month job in detroit. :huh
Any news on the pro show in belfast that was supposed to be happening? Is it stil going ahead or is it another show thats bitten the dust.
I've an interview with Andy in tomorrow's Sun. Will find a way to get it online afterwards, once the paper's out etc.
Just heard from Willie Casey who confirmed he's still good to go for the 24th. Not heard too much else about the show yet but sure no point trying to publicise against the amateurs, I'm sure all will be revealed in time.

My predictions for tonight.. Barnes Phelan JJ Nevin DO Joyce Hickey Nolan ( just ) Egan McCarthy Sheehan
Tenner on Phelan, Sheehan, Ward, McCarthy, Nolan, Hickey and Barnes accumulator. If it comes in it’s worth £394. Phelan, Ward and McDonagh the obvious gambles for me, and Phelan especially. But they’re doing something right down there in Ryston.
