My point is that from Martinez vs Mayweather was almost a done deal, to a No Pacquiao fight and then choosing to fight Cotto whom Pac destroyed.
Martinez has a fight coming up No way can he fight Mayweather on May 5th / anyway fights close to being done fall through all the time think Froch-Bute and Berto-Ortiz 2
Correction. Mayweather was asked if he would fight Martinez @150lbs, as Martinez had said just previously that he was willing to fight Mayweather @150lb catchweight.
At the Boxing Scene January 18th 2012, Mayweather: '' If Sergio Martinez can make 150, we can make the fight absolutely. Martinez returns on March 17 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Mayweather should know Martinez is fighting Macklin on March 17. Would Mayweather be talking about a May 5th bout or November? even if its at November, Mayweather gets out of jail on September which means only 2 months to make the fight, promote and train. Not long enough.
