Regardless if Nishioka is the next opponent for Nonito or not, it's gonna be a while before Nonito fights again. His hand injury looks serious.

Nishioka is very underrated on ESB, mostly because most people don't bother to stay up until 6am and watch Japanese boxing. So most people when they are absolutely forced to look into Japanese boxers once their names get too big to ignore (Hasegawa, then Kameda, then Nishioka) tend to just look up a few minutes of them here and there on Youtube - which doesn't really always give you the best impression of how good someone really is.

I'd say it's a very small minority on ESB who have seen more than 3-4 full fights of Nishioka's - yet everyone is going to have an opinion on how he does against Donaire or Rigondeaux.

so knowing Nishioka as well as you do, do you think he can whoop Nonito(e)'s AZZ?

I'd actually give him a very, very good chance and maybe even favor him.

If I were to rate the four champs at SBW in h2h terms it would be:

    1) Nishioka
    2) Donaire
    3) Rigondeaux
    4) Ndlovu

(close between 1 & 2, even closer between 2 & 3, very wide gap between 3 & 4...and everyone behind the champs is well behind...even solid guys like Mijares and Montiel who were champs at lower weights but are a bit past it and above their optimal weights)

    Yeah, man - treat yourself.

I think a lot of people if they have seen anything of him, have only seen the win over Rafael Marquez...which wasn't his most dazzling performance and I think with the hype people were expecting more (like a knockout) with Rafa having been written off as shot after the Vazquez wars and the loss to Lopez.

The ****ed up thing is that the Marquez win was his big Western television debut and still nobody saw it, because it was buried on a shitty third rate network that isn't even available in half the U.S. (FSE) and it was on the same night as a big HBO card.

I'll go with Donaire on this one.. I don't see Nishioka landing heavy blows on Donaire, and he won't be able to outbox Donaire too.. I'll go for Donaire KO or UD with atleast a KD..
