Nothing and nothing, they're just dehydrating and rehydrating themselves. Humans are made up of 40-70% water. Some people tolerate dehydration better than others, it really isn't healthy though.

It's not something I could do, I don't know how these guys can fight 12 rounds the day after, it seems like it would be a horrific experience.

When the college boxing team made us run about 3 miles a day in a few weeks my weight went from 125 lbs to about 114 and I started feeling really light headed and weak in sparring, so I started eating and eating, but I still didn't get up to 120 until I started cheating on the runs and going a shorter distance.

I think that weight was lost muscle tissue which resulted in a lot of lost strength, not dehydration. I have never been able to "sweat off" and regain weight beyond maybe three pounds, and the weight I lost from running took a while to come back (obviously age has changed this :( )

I am honestly amazed that someone can do 21 pounds in a day without risking death (10 seems doable, 21 is crazy, crazy stuff)

i am amazed too, it hard just to manipulate 5lbs back and forth from the weight in.

i think when the do the re-weigh in, they must be fully clothed with the gloves and shoes and robe. maybe adding another 4 or 5lbs

how about barkley, arce, p. williams

I find it hard to believe middle weights can gain 20lbs on their small body frames in such a short space of time. With heavyweights, it's understandable...

I know how it works. Just hard to believe a body can put up 20 POUNDS overnight just rehydrating.

McClellan was known to gain an incredible amount of weight towards fightnight. I've read rumours that he was close to the CW limit (190 back then) in some of his MW fights.

The only way to fix this problem is going back to same day weigh-in...

Corrales/Castillo used to put on approx 15 pounds when they were fighting at lightweight!

Pacquaio used to weigh in in the 140s when he fought at 130.

McClellan used to cut 20lbs+ at middle, Gatti cut crazy weight as well.

Thai fighters traditionally cut a lot of weight. Muangasurin used to rehydrate 15lbs+ on same-day weighins!
