who is the better American Heavyweight Prospect?

I am most impressed by Deontay.

 

Well, Mitchell is younger than Hanks, more tested than both, and has clearly expressed his interest in much bigger fights, even than Ibragimov.

Hanks and Wilder are both untested. Hanks moreso than Wilder as I rate Alexander in much higher regard than I do Escalero or White or Pedro.

Too bad for us that American prospects aren't fighting other prospects like the european or british and russian prospects are.

I think both Wilder and Hanks are better than either Fury or Price, but based of LOC, I am completely guessing. Fury obviously has the best resume of the current crop of world prospects(aside from Helenius whom I already consider a contender).

But like I said, Fury has already beaten Nascimento, Chisora, Pajkic, and Power and is poised to fight Price. Price hasn't got the resume of Fury, but he's also poised to fight Fury and just smoked Mcnugget who most(myself included) regard as a solid gatekeeper.

TBH, as far as American prospects go, I think we should look for less popular names, who are diligently seeking bigger fights. Bye Bye Bryant just beat Byarm last month on NBC. 12-0 vs 17-0. Not exactly world class guys, but both stepping and taking a huge fight.
David Rodriguez was a 29 y/o American prospect 5 yrs ago.....thunderous power, solid chin, and dynamic body puncher......BUT.....that was 5 yrs ago, and his managment, similarly to Hanks and Wilder has moved at a snails pace and he's 34 and only now seeing bigger opportunities in his path.

If Wilder and Hanks follow his mgmts direction, they too will be viewed in similar light as guys like Holmes, Rodriguez, Madison etc are viewed today. Untested, unproven, bottomfeeders.....fighting well below their class, padding their records, and hiding some beatable trait.

tbh these fighters would be journeyman even in tysons era, but seth mitchell is the best of a bad bunch

 

Hanks is on Rodriguez radar........but if the fight went down.....and Rodriguez smoked him......what profit would it be to him? Would anyone consider it a high quality win or another KO vs an unproven fighter?

 

He does tend to put his chin out there ISO the KO. He needs to be looking for openings then taking them vs other punchers. He was very reckless vs Tiggy and it could have cost him.....but....I'm hoping it was nerves.

Wilder has fought on the big stage a few times already and he is a lot more poised when it comes to protecting his chin. But there could be something too that.:think

I don't rate any of them very highly but the worst of the bunch is undoubtedly Wilder. The guy was starched in the amateurs, dropped by one of these feather fisted nobodies that they pulled off of a stool in an Alabama bar to fight him, and his defense is horrendous. His Chin is bad enough to potentially dethrone Kirkland as the #1 in the Glass Jaw rankings but, unfortunately, his management realizes this, as well, and will continue to pad his record in Alabama flea market/strip club fights before they cash him out. He is a joke as are the rest of the American HWs at the moment.

I don't watch a lot of HW Boxing but I rate all of these guys higher than Mitchell. If pressed, however, I would say Mitchell is the best of the current Americans.
