Surley if your Sky you think to yourself lets let David Price bash up Fury infront of 3million and get a huge profile and then we have him back for the rest of his career.
If this was true and Tyson hadn't vacated the titles how would this have played out with Price being mandatory for the title? Would it have been forced to go to purse bids or could Tyson have kept the title but lined up someone else as Price turned it down?
Have to disagree. Way too many fighters not taking on challengers because of the risk factor involved. Bad for boxing in the long run and it will turn away fans from the sport. If you have confidence in your fighter then give him a few challenges.
Surely the £100,000 is both fighters not just for Price? If Hennessey was willing to give Price £100,000 than surely he would be paying the champion, Fury more. Can't see that for a domestic fight. Do we find out who bid and how much? Would be interesting to see how many people wanted to promote this fight.
Its pretty obvious its bull****. Hennessy doesnt want the chance of Fury losing just yet on Ch5 when he has a good thing going. Sure it wont last for ever and he'll have to take a risk but he will drag that out for as long as possible whilst building Eubank jr to become the headline star.
Fury hasnt been wrapped in cotton-wool so far, I think his record is good for such a young heavyweight. Tyson should be fighting an established & top10 rated opponent next, Price should be fighting someone like Sexton.
I think Hennessy and Maloney have a bit of history, Im not sure why but I remember Hennessy calling Maloney '' The Mental Miget'' on one of Bunce's boxing hour's.
Potential, so no guarantee and Fury is blatantly getting knocked out sometime soon if he continues fighting the way he is. Might aswell get it on now and theres nothing to say if they both kept winning after they cant fight again in two - three years. I dont think too much damage was done to Degale by fighting Groves so early in their careers(apart from to his own ego anyway) and they can still have another big occasion down the line. Let it happen, the constant waiting and "let em keep winning so it becomes a bigger event" stuff in boxing annoys the hell out of me. On a bigger scale it was the same with Gamboa and Juanma, it's like wait, wait, wait, it'll be bigger down the line, wait, wait, wait. Juanma then loses and it's like oh, it's now lost about 90% of the interest!
:good With Price's supposedly dodgy chin and the limitation's Fury has shown we can't rule out either of them getting KO'd soon. Then the fight will lose all its appeal. Allegedly Price stood to make more from purse bids (he would have got 40%) as Maloney claims quite a few promoters made some massive bids. Real shame it's not happening but that's just boxing. I bet we'll see Fury fighting for some interbullshitty type title on C5 against handpicked opponents whilst Price will get Sexton or someone for the British. Someone on twitter was saying Larry O could be nominated :scaredas:. If someone from the board's reading this...PLEASE DON'T ORDER THAT FIGHT! Would be wank, Price KO1.
