I could be wrong, but I suspect Price is a bigger sell at the gate than Del. Add in to that the Manchester vs Liverpool derby factor and it's even bigger.

I find it very hard to believe that Price has been on anywhere near that sort of money for his previous fights. There's no way Maloney would have treated us to all those Latvian rollovers if that was the case.

 

I think Frank and Price are shocked that Fury has vacated and that it hasn`t gone to purse bids,if Hennessy had told him it was either take it or we vacate they might of accepted but i don`t think he did and in truth he doesn`t want the fight to take place because it`s to risky.Price does lose out on a big payday now and could possibly end up with about 25% of the purse he would of got for fighting somebody like Sexton.

The point isn`t that Frank doesn`t pays him more then 100 grand for a normal fight,it is because of the interest in this fight they thought they could get more then what was on offer.

 

The hundred grand must be a clause for him fighting for the british title. He won't of been on that against honest abdul of liberia by way of peckham.

He just faught and Ko'd a bloke in 1 round that it took Fury 19 rounds and 1 loss to get rid off!!!

He got his mandatory spot and a guy who has always banged about the traditions of the British title should defend it.

He hasn't even got a bigger fight lined up.

I might be wrong but i think Buncey is just saying that he should just take that offer because he won`t get 100 grand for a fight against anyone else at the moment

 

It's a big loss to the sport but I understand Mick's thinking.

I'd get Aud over Ali and then in with Price for title.

Im shocked to read this. I thought Fury wanted to fight Price and holding the British title would have probably made it happen.
I would picked Fury to beat Price.

I guess Fury and his team see Price as too big a risk but I am shocked, I didnt think Fury would avoid Price

 

Reminds me a little of Hatton/Witter. Hatton always wanted the British title but then wouldnt defend it against Witter and went to the WBU belt instead, and the fight then never happend

 

If Fury is genuine about having a tilt at the Klitschko's belts who better to tune up on than a 6'8", in shape, decent technician with a dig to worry about staying out of the way of? To talk of pursing unifying the world championship when you haven't even faced your biggest domestic rival is nonsense.

right bunce , lets start a campaign i wanna see a domestic heavyweight super 6 with say £700k split in prizemoney(generated below)and also the winner getting a shot at world strap , fights on a ppv basis on either sky or boxnation , fans can buy a season ticket to see all the fights for say £50 combine this with the gate reciepts and its achievable

have 3 fights on per night at outdoor summer venues charge £50 a ticket and chuck in some other entertainment like horse racing does with band or big name dj before or after racing and you will get a huge audience many of whom had nt been to a live fight in their life
6 boxers ranked and fighting each other with no options on promotion

the yanks pulled this off and our sport needs somethin big like this in the uk to address the reverse in interest in the sport and also return some creditabilty to the game .

PURSE BIDS! Plus as the champ, Fury would get more. You have to wonder why it didn't go to purse bid. Maloney refused the 100k, wanted to go to purse bids but Mick had his excuse then.

Mick is doing this because Fury is his only really fighter at the moment.
