He is fighting March 17th defending his commonwealth title. Wouldn't mind seeing a quality african come over. Simphiwe Nongqayi is a former world champion. Lost in 4 rounds to Arce in a world title fight recently. Oscar Chauke just lost a split decison to Mathelba who is a top 15 fighter in the division.
Wouldnt mind seeing him box simpson's head off, not that i dislike Simpson at all. Just would rather see how he measures against a good aggressive fighter in John.
It all just feels like killing time until Gallagher concedes that Frampton-Quigg is necessary to know who is better.
Theres only one opponent for frampton at the moment and thats quigg they should fight now one loss isnt going to ruin eithers career especially in this day and age where the requirement to get a european title shot is to lose to your biggest domestic rival in a british title fight and if they have it now and its a ******* it will be a natural rematch when one of these guys wins a world title.
I would like to see him go after someone like Steve Molitor, March 17th may be a little to soon but it would be a winnable fight IMO.
If Ndlovu (who is average) and Gauthier can beat Molitor these days, and Booth can make it close then I think Frampton definitely has a shot, so would Quigg by the way. but it won't happen, he'll want too much money and was cut badly in his last fight.
There's quite a few past it 122 pounders that he could feasibly take on in the coming years, I suppose it just depends on how quickly they plan on bringing him along. Nongqayi's a good shout, there's no way he's like 30 or whatever his team claim him to be though. He's pushing - if not already - 40 in my opinion, but even still he'd probably be a pretty good test for a guy like Frampton, considering his only setbacks are at ''world'' level. Luis Melendez could be possible as well if they wanted to get him, he's mixed in good company but doesn't beat them, is relatively durable and has been willing to travel to his opponent's territory when he's been the underdog. Can't imagine he'd demand as much as a fighter like Molitor would do either. Someone like Casey is probably the most likely though, which should be pretty fun.
