****ing hell I thought you liked boxing?

If there's a KD then its an automatic 10-8 round. If the person knocked down wins the round convincingly it then becomes a point deduction from the other fighter. There's no such thing as a boxer getting an official KD against him and still ending the round with a 10 pt score.

 

I though the kid looked good. Fast, accurate hands and didn't get hit with too much. I just hope he grows into his body a bit.

 

Yes booth is past it & should retire but don't forget that Galahads only 21 & in his 11th fight against someone so experienced. To perform like that in only his 11th fight was impressive. With such a low ko % I was surprised he hurt booth on 2 or 3 occasions as booth admitted after the fight.

 

I think they picked Booth for a reason.

He's never been the most heavy handed and has clearly been on the slide since the loss to Molitor.

Good performance, Booth even at this stage of his career was a big step up for Kid G. and he controlled the fight with ease, very impressive.

If Fighter A is winning the round and scores a knockdown and continues to win the round after the knockdown, then Fighter A is awarded the round 10-8. However, if Fighter A is winning the round and gets knocked down by Fighter B, then Fighter B is awarded the round 10-9."

 

The fight got 1.1 million viewers on channel 5, that really is a great figure considering they had a young unheralded prospect headline a show for the first time, and on only his third television appearance (off the top of my head anyway).

This is great news for Boxing, and nice to see something positive after all the crap from last night.

In each example, assume Boxer A does enough to win the round pretty clearly.
No Knockdown = 10-9 Boxer A
Boxer B Knocks Down Fighter A = 10-9 Boxer B
Boxer A Knocks Down Fighter B = 10-8 Boxer A

There is no way you can "gain" a point under the ten point must system, you can only lose them. So a 10-9 round penalises the fighter who got knocked down, whilst still acknowledging they won the round by shortening the usual 2 point deficit.

 

Thats a **** rule then. So winning a round means less than a knockdown, load of ****.

 

Watching the Eubank fight now, it is clear that his right hand was hurt as he was being completely reliant on his left. However this will be a great learning experience and I still saw plenty of promise from him he showed good variation with his left. Not sure if this is right but isn't he orthodox in which case if he is he was using his weaker hand, not too shabby if you ask me. Also he throw some decent body shots which was nice to see as it looked like he neglected that in his first fight. Overall a very good fight for Eubank Jr and I would consider making a rematch in two or three fights time over eight rounds to see how he has progressed.

 

I liked Fat Mick talking about Galahad facing Kiko next:

'After Kiko's fight in March, we'll talk to him about doing a fight with us next. If not, then Galahad will defend his WBC bauble...'

I guess it'll be a defence of that WBC bauble next then :deal
