benitez champion at 17 beat cervantes, duran, palomino, hope and gave leonard a fight.toney beat jirov, mccallum, nunn, barkley and made a decent assault on the heavyweight division.benitez' brilliant flame burnt out by the time he was 24,but toney had a number of questionable decisions some went his way others didnt.should be a tough call who gets your vote

toney was very unlucky at heavyweight.ruiz rahman and peter 1 were 3 fights he won in my eyes but they ****ed up the decisions

Very though call indeed, but though Toney obviously wins in the longevity departement, I rate Benitez' best opponents and the way he dealt with them a little higher. I mean he really dominated Duran IMO, and Duran's obviously an ATG.
If forced to pick, i'll go with Benitez, but Toney when he was at his best will always be one of my favourites.

how dare you mention Toney in the same sentence as Benitez.

    1. Youngest CHAMPION of all time
    2. CHAMPION at 140 (at 17), CHAMPION at 147, TITLIST at 154
    3. Compare what happened when they fought ATGs:

Benitez beat Cervantez and Duran. Fought close fights with Leonard, Hearns.
    Toney was dominated by RJJ.

Longevity doesnt mean **** when you dont do anything for a 10 yr span.

no one ****ed up the RUiz decision, Toney ****ed up by cheating. The Rahman fight Toney got a gift draw, and Peter I was the correct decision. YOu cant win rounds when youre getting thrown back with every punch.

Toney has had a longer career but still hasn't achieved as much as Benitez.

On natural ability, Benitez and on achievements, Benitez.
