Not even close. Mayweather at his age is a more complete fighters than most will ever be in their whole careers. Not Broner's fault Mayweather is just that good. Even Pacq at his age was a legit titleholder and a force. Not fair to compare him to them but if he plays his cards right he can be a decent fighter. Will see the Deleon fight once its up on yt but talents like Floyd, Pacq, and JMM only come around every 15-20 years. Maybe even 30. Broner needs to stick to being himself as he doesn't have Money's talents.

Doesn't fight much like Mayweather and won't be as great but will be a top 3 p4p fighter and one of the sports top draws. You don't see that kinda dynamic speed/killer instinct/flashyness too often....well Gamboa aside.. He's fan friendly/charismatic and he got skills and power....he'll be big.

He seems like a good fighter to me who takes his craft serious.

I think he will be a top fighter but not on the level of Mayweather.

It's difficult to say if he will cross over and become a PPV star but probably, he has created this "brush my hair" persona for himself. So I guess he understands how to promote himself.

Add that to the fact he is quite exciting style he could do well!

Never heard of him. What is his amateur background?

The majority of the top guys had very good amateur backgrounds. PBF, Hoya, Mosley, Wlad, ect ect

I think he would beat PDL in a rematch now but you gotta consider Pdl is also on the downslide. Would like to see him face a Linares or John. His style is reminiscent of Floyd, but Floyd was already a phenom by Broners age. Something Broner is not.

Oh come on man, De Leon/Rodriguez/Litzau= better than anyone Jacobs beat (Ishe's good but he was done witht he sport and unmotivated by the time he faced Jacobs) also Broner took some bombs from De Leon and looked fine. Pretty sure his beard is MUCH better than Jacobs. Not to mention he's just all around more impressive and dynamic with better technique and less openings. I know you gotta see this. I may be taking it far with future top 3 p4p but like Gamboa, Broners got that fan friendly/ flashy style and he's shown great killer instinct. Chalk the De Leon fight up to it being his very first time stepping up in competition and facing a style that clashes with his. I think he learned a lot from that one and will be much better suited to go 12 with an opponent he isn't putting away that stays in his face next time.

oh yeah a 21 year old novice who has never fought anyone of any significance was exposed for fighting a close fight with an extremely experienced and rugged former champion who vastly improved since his championship days.

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

    do you even watch boxing?

Guess Torrecampo exposed Pacman and Javier Duran exposed Marquez and Castillo exposed Mayweather and De Jesus exposed Roberto Duran.......

yeah god forbid a kid having close fight with a good worldclass fighter and former champ who's a bad style match up and was levels beyond him in experience. If anything Broners team did well by not babying the young fighter by padding his record and by throwing him in deep vs DeLeon early in his career, he now knows what needs to be done in a fight vs a pressure guy that won't go down and my guess is he learned a lot and will be vastly improved next time he fights someone like this. I'd predict him to whup DeLeon in a rematch.

Jesus people ***** about young prospects not fighting good fighters and when one does and has a close fight he gets hated for it!!! There's isn't a great fighter in history that didn't have problems with someone they weren't expected to in their early career.

    No!

Perez on his best night won't be able to do what Pirog did. He's got to use guile and boxing if he wants to beat Broner - and unfortunately even that is a long shot. Broner has too much talent.

Eventually though, he'll have to get in there with someone to challenge him at least as much as DPDL did. If it's some relative unknown that his team hasn't scouted (which was the case with Pirog at the time) - that's where he could run into trouble.
