    Duran, in his prime as a lightweight, was a better fighter than SRL. Not many people realize that by 1980, Duran was slightly past his peak, and fighting at a heavier weight, where his power counted for less. If that version of Duran could beat SRL, then I'm convinced that the prime lightweight Duran was that much superior to SRL, on a pound-for-pound, inch-for-inch basis.

    the cobra looks right, most catagories are very close even if the winner is obvious, a testament to the all round boxing skills of them both.

    perhaps the deciding factor is that ray was more mentally and tactically adept(not perfect see montreal). if duran was in shape for 2 then we would see weather he had answers for a top level slick defense and backwards movement.
