Duran, in his prime as a lightweight, was a better fighter than SRL. Not many people realize that by 1980, Duran was slightly past his peak, and fighting at a heavier weight, where his power counted for less. If that version of Duran could beat SRL, then I'm convinced that the prime lightweight Duran was that much superior to SRL, on a pound-for-pound, inch-for-inch basis.
