Long time viewer first time poster. I have to agree with the other guy that posted about this. Thats the first thing I talked to my buddy about last night. Give Steve Forbes some cash to go away till December for the DLH retirement fight and fight Quintana in May on PPV. This is for a title against a guy that he can beat and most importantly someone that wont run from him (=exciting). Quintana proved he isnt a push over and this fight will be competitive. The only reason DLH wouldnt want this fight is b/c its too much of a risk before the PBF rematch. A win over Quintana though would make that rematch that much bigger though with it being a Welterweight unification match. If nothing else DLH is one of the best business minds in the business and I think this is a real possibility. Make it happen DLH. ~Rick
I agree, 100% with this post, DLH will pick Quintana for his tune up fight for mayweather. DLH Will KO him, he will get a Belt and buildup the Hype for Mayweathe DLH II even more. Quintana of course wont refuse this or have plans of his own because like he said last night, "If I win, it puts me in a position to make more money." No one in their right mind would turn down the Paycheck an Oscar fight has to offer.
The hypocrite factor definitly plays a role in a Quintana fight. I think everyone knows that that little caveat from his wife is just to protect him from Cotto. I'm sure she would give him her blessings against Quintana. ~Rick
He's nearing his end but he is only 35. He plans for this to be his last year (as it should) and he can devote himself to making the weight. He'll have the best nutrionists money can buy. Not to mention they probably can agree to the fight being at 149 (max) with it still being for the title. Depending on the organization they can agree to be a lb or so off of the official weight limit. I'm sure the WBO would be willing to compromise for a potential DLH bout. ~Rick
Guys, be serious. Quintana is a RISK, and there's no way DLH is gonna RISK all the millions the world awaits to be made again in September. Forget it.
She told him he can't fight any Puerto Ricans named Miguel Angel Cotto that would knock him out, to be a little more specific. At 154, DLH would UD Quintana and have a good chance of stopping him.
Because if he fights another Puerto Rican fighter . . . his wife is gonna expose new sets of pics of him in fishnet. :yep :rofl
