Haye's an ATG head to head monster that matches up exceptionally well against anybody in history. You only have to look at the way he manhandled Audley Harrison and Enzo Maccarinelli for justification of this. :deal
I'm a Povetkin fan and would really like to see him Haye. It's unfortunate Haye has been so inactive against genuine competition at HW. Other than Wlad he's done very little to earn cred. This site is full of speculation about Haye but unless he actually does something of note (at HW), that's all it is. Stating the obvious here I know.
And what is it he does best : Talk about what he's going to do to the Klitschkos ? Sell himself into another multi-million mega fight ? Pose naked ? Launch a magazine named after himself ? Or talk about what he's going to do to the Klitschkos ?
Depressing to watch ???? Are you for real it was a great fight to watch may have lacked quality but for pure action and excitement it was top.
Huck is now No. 4 on Boxrec. I am not sure how that worked like that bearing in mind Chisora lost on points to a higher ranked fight, but is below on Boxrec. Presumably his cruiser ranking points are simply applied in a higher division which is a flaw on their rankings criteria
Ive never rated Povetkin. He has never done anything impressive I think Haye would stop him and do it early.
Firstly it was a really good fight, surprised me. Secondly yeah, both are really limited. Thirdly yeah, Haye would/would have beat both. But he won't, so who cares. All he's interested in is making big money against a Klitschko, he's not interested in building a good career at heavyweight.
Povetkin was never great, but for all the good things Atlas installed in him, he seems to have ruined other things.
What good things has Atlas instilled in him? I can't put my finger on it, if they exist. Povetkin used to be a small heavyweight that made up for it with above average speed, VERY high work-rate (800+ punches) to compensate for mediocre/poor power and very good skills coming off a good amateur career. Now he just looks like a plodder with crap defence (to be fair it was never great but his slowness/poor stamina is exacerbating it). To be fair I can't fault Teddy because the chances are the lay off is what eroded him, but to be honest, I can't put my finger on anything particularly good that Atlas has done either.
I think he picks his punches better now - before he often steamed in without any rhyme or reason. However, the flipside is that he's not fast enough or powerful enough to get the job done versus the brothers with that style. Basically, he'll take a pasting like Chagaev did.
