maidana came in flabby and threw far less than he does normally - his power punches were looping and slow - if you watch his khan/oritz/cayo fights he was throwing lot of crisp short punches in this fight they went missing. Devon showed improved stamina though and dealt with his cut well
yeah I agree. He'll get use to the weight more as time goes on. He's still young, too, so he has time to improve even more. His power looks much better at this weight.
maidana has also bin in alot of wars, so you can really make the case for him being old, in terms of boxing years
:think He seems to have quieted down his, uh, vocalisations, as well. "Hah! Ah! Uh, uh, uh, uh!" I noticed it a lot less. I can only call that an improvement.
Alexander took Maidana to school. The step up to 147 Definitely benefitted him. But, I've always thought Maidana was a very overrated fighter on ESB, so I'm not surprised he got completely outclassed.
I expected him to impress last night and he did. I think people forget he's so young, he has a future at 147.
How can you guys say Maidana looked shite at the weight when he's rehydrating way up at 140? His huge flaws came out last night..that's all.
I thought he looked really good and showed lots of heart. The fight got rough at times and he was ready for that too.He always could fight but I think his biggest inprovement was his mindset.
He looked pretty good. Seemed like he was gonna slip up a bit early on, but seemed he caught himself and overcame.. Maidana didn't look good and has progressively looked worst in each fight over the past two years. Overall Alexander wasnt really entertaining, but he was effective and won pretty much every minute..
