did u understand what they are saying in that article? how is it gamboa's fault ? Ive been telling for a long time that this fight is a way to cash out on Gamboa, Arum for whatever reason feel that Rios will walk thru Yuriorkis. the article explains how Gamboa has been put aside from meaningful fights- Salido was suppose to be defeated by Lopez, don't forget-and Ponce de Leon was an experiment trying to look good working with GBP.
u must hate Gamboa, why he have to slave himself to a guy that doesn't look after him? He try to fight Lopez and Arum never made that fight, Rigondeaux is trying to fight Donaire and I don't c that happening, if it was me I would not want to sign a contract that could screw me over...
The fight is going on but yes there is a beef w Gamboa and his promoters right now...the fight almost didn't happen because of that.
the whole TR camp sucks,go and keep fighting these bum,and build your name you puppet! if fighter wanna fight, golden boy is where it at now, where they work for fighter, not the other way around!
this sucks.. honestly, everyone under the top rank stable has been overshadowed by Manny Pacquiao. I have felt that Gamboa should have been prime time at least 3 years ago. He's lightning in a bottle with his hands. And I've always felt that Uncle Bob was protecting him too much. Anyways, let him jump to Mayweather Promotions. I'm pretty much sure, Floyd can get this dude some major fights..
Don't worry guys, it's happening... However just a few days ago it wasn't signed yet. Nobody knows this other than some people connected to Gamboa but he never signed the fight when Top Rank said he did. They put the media pressure on him by making the fight "official", telling yahoo sports and ESPN that Gamboa had already signed when he had not. Gamboa wanted the fight but the reason why he didn't sign before is because they were blackmailing him, and staying with Top Rank was a condition for the fight to happen, so he hesitated for a while. All I can tell you is that he really wants the fight and he signed it recently, and he's moving to Las Vegas very soon to train there, but I don't know what is the final situation with his promoters.
If that's true, that's absolute bull**** on the part of Top Rank and I hope Gamboa did not have to sign an extension and is not trapped with them much longer. It was bad enough that the only decent fight they were willing to give him was two classes up but that kind of extortion is absolutely unacceptable.
