Hey, I need to do myself and eating plan to cut weight effectively, keep my power and not leave myself drained. I understand it sound like I am looking for an easy way out, but I have spent hour on the forum and have only got myself more confused ha. Height 6ft weigh 189lb. Target 178lb I've only started back training recently and need to get down to 178lb to fight. I consider myself quite lean and fit(no huge belly) at the minute and i'm quite worried about putting weight on as training goes on as opposed to cutting weight on the incorrect i.e are Protein shakes beneficial when trying to lose weight etc I would really appreciate any help at all Thanks in advance lads
protein shakes arent gunna do anything imo. you'd be better off to post what you eat, or any type of eating schedule you have for the guys who know more about this **** that could help you out
Protien shakes will do there job which is give you protein. If the op wants to loseweight its Calories out>Calories in
Ok started back training there 2 weeks ago. Here's my diet for today, with some heavy training Breakfast 6am- 2 slices wholemeal toast on peanut butter, and an apple. Small lunch 9.30- Tuna, sweetcorn and salad cream sandwich (4 slices) with half pack of potato chip. Big lunch 12.30 - Same as above, with banana and apple 3.00- Apple 4.30 - Chicken and pasta (with cabonara from jar sauce) Sleep for half an hour before training at 6.30 till 8.00 8.00 - 2 slices honeydem melon, 2 slices galia melon, apple and some dried banana chips
well im no nutrition expert at all, but it seems to me like you're eating pretty clean minus the chips, but what is a salad cream sandwich? lol. you're eating alot of sugar tho from the amount of fruit you're taking in. fruit is usually pretty high in sugar. if you're just getting back into training you're going to drop some weight anyways, but id try and substitute something in place of the fruit here and there. like a small portion of lean meats, maybe another tuna sandwich, greek yogurt, etc. and why are you having two lunches? at 9:30 in the morning it seems like a second breakfast really. maybe try eating a little more with your first meal so you dont feel the need to eat again until lunchtime.
If you say you are a boxer you should know the answer to this already. That's a tiny amount of weight. Realistically you could dehydrate to that in a day or more. Failing that if you do want to loose weight properly taking protein shakes isn't the way to do it. Your primary source of energy is from carbs. Anyway there's no short cut or magical recipe here. Simply eat less and compliment that with an adequate training regime. If you are a boxer you should know what to do already.
