Who should be the first challenger to Bendo - Pettis or Melendez?

I can't think of anyone else.

    - Edgar doesn't deserve an immediate rematch for any reason, he got beat fair and square

    - Nate Diaz has a fight coming up in May already

    - Gray Maynard can't come off a KO loss into a title shot

    - Cerrone coming off a loss

    - Barboza hasn't beaten top ranked opposition yet

So who should it be, Pettis or Melendez? Or am I missing someone out? :bbb

Melendez has to be in the UFC. It's criminal he isn't mixing it with the best. You can't do anymore outside of the UFC to get your call for a shot.

For what exact reason does Frankie Edgar :

Back to back wins against the best LW of all time , then 2 wars with Gray Maynard going 3 - 0 - 1 , not deserve an immediate rematch ??? :huh

Now !!! , if Pettis hadnt of KO'd Henderson , for me , he wouldnt be a worthy challenger , i honestly dont think he's that good , but he did , and sure enough he's just flattened Joe Lauzon pretty impressively on the same card as Henderson topping the very highly regarded former champion , bearing in mind there's pretty much no one else sticking out at the mo , one would think Henderson Pettis 2 is imminent !!!

Melendez , is an obvious choice , but i beleive Pettis will fight him

If Frankie decides 55 is his future then Melendez Edgar or Melendez Maynard in the near'ish future would be nice :deal , this is irrelevant anyway because Melendez shows no signs of switching organisations , which ****in stinks but i suppose we'll have to live with it

Sidenote ; Ben Henderson has raised the bar again :admin !!! , and Pettis is still Pettis , i dont see him seing out 5 rounds with Henderson this time out

I had it a clear win for Ben, I see no need for a rematch. Frankie should either go to 145 (where he'd be even better imo) or get back in line and have to earn a shot like everyone else.

It was a close fight that Pettis won a UD prolly thanks to that kick and knocked him down. It was a good fight

    If not Edgar then Pettis.

I think rematches are only merited if there is some controversy about the result. I don't see any controversy about Henderson-Edgar at all, it was a competititve fight but Henderson was the clear winner, and it was a UD. Anyone who scored that fight for Edgar is having a laugh.

Pettis. Melendez has to earn his shot.
