i think would be a terrific fight for one, financially viable, potential PPV & showcases WLAD to the Americans again & brings the heavyweight title fight back to US shores, agree?

Why should all heavyweight title fights be in America? Haven't they had more than their share there over the years?

It's benefits all parties at this point, im not saying every HW fight has to be in america, just financially it probably makes alot more sense fighting an american in america.

    Mitchell vs Arreola on HBO

    Winner gets Wladimir. Perfect plan.

Mitchell has never fought past round 6. You are not ready to challenge for the title if you haven't done that. You are probably not even ready to face a top 10 contender. Despite his age, Mitchell is still a prospect until he gets a few real fights under his belt. He can't expect to blow away fighters from the top 10 (or even 20) like he's done with the cans he's been beating.

Mitchell is a modern day Gerry Cooney on these boards with Americans. The American saviour, (I'm going to avoid a racial undertone here) gonna bring excitement back to the division! If they ever put him in with Wlad, it would be as one sided as a gang ****.

I get your point. But Mitchell has got some hype and following in the US right now. A fight with Arreola would be perfect at this point. Now or never. Get this on the Mayweather-Cotto undercard.

Winner fights Wlad in the States.

I thought Wlad has to fulfil his mandatory vs. Thompson after Mormeck.

I was thinking the other day that a fight with Povetkin might be attractive untill I looked at Mitchell's record and saw he had never gone past 6. IMO he will need two more years to get ready, slowly stepping up competition and going 10 rounds or more at least twice - even Tyson did that and he was the youngest champion ever. I realise Mitchell is 30 soon and will run out of time, but for this very reason he needs to be careful: he's only got one shot at this and must get it right the first time. In 2 years time there could be one or more championship belts available and then he'd still have enough on the clock for a handful of years of defences and making money.

Yes I agree that Seth needs to get past guys like Arreola, Chambers, Huck, Povetkin, and maybe some taller fighters close to the Klits.

Not saying fight and beat all of them, but needs to beat some top contenders.

Then I think he should go over to Wlad's territory and TAKE the title. It's not that HW fights SHOULDN'T happen in the US. But when the champions are of other countries and have success over there (also success financially), the US fighter should travel and actually challenge them on their home court.

It makes it that much sweeter should they win and "bring the title home" literally.

Mitchell needs to step up his competition first, Ibragimov was a good start, now he needs to face a top 10 guy or two.
