I facny Macklin in this one, think he can put in a Barker style performance but with alot more power. Was very impressed with his last fight thought he won it so it will be a an intresting fight to watch,

I'm Irish so I will be cheering on Macklin naturally. Also he is a great personality and a lot of fun. As for the boxing though, I think Sergio's style is all wrong for Macklin and I am not sure it will be anything like the Barker fight. Macklin could hurt sergio but I still think he won't find him anywehere and Sergio will counter him all night long. Hope to be proved wrong though!!!

Macklins style tailor made for Martinez, plus they are on two different levels. If Martinez dont stop Macklin, McGirt will

You think Macklin is going to stand-off Martinez and counter him with a low output?

I think he will start well, maybe w3in the first couple. But Sergio does have the power to hurt Macklin, I can see a counter from Sergio putting Macklin away in the mid rounds.

    Tough Tough fight for Macklin.

I hope he wins, but I can only see him getting beat, most likely stopped...

Maybe I was abit off with that comment but I think Macklin can have sucsess with sustained agression which he did show in the majority of the Sturm fight.

behave yourself mate, Macklin fighting Martinez is like night and day compared to when he fought Sturm.

Martinez isn't going to be standing in front of him to let him tee off or work the body, he will work the angles and catch Macklin on the way in.

If you watch the Barker fight you can see Martinez isn't as good as the hype suggests. I think Macklin has a better chance than alot of people are saying.

Macklin has a chance but a slim one. Macklin was able to look good v Sturm due to his style of fighting - Martinez is a different fighter all together. Martinez will jab and counter Macklin all night, and will not be allowed to work. Martinez will keep the distance and box Macklin.

    Martinez by UD.

I cannot see anything other than Martinez walking Macklin onto shots until either the ref jumps in or Macklin cannot stand, unfortunately macklin plans to try and be aggresive and physical but i can't think of a worse gameplan.

Good luck Macklin i hope he succeeds but i just dont see it happening.

Classic Bull v Matador. Should be action packed with Mack getting KO'd at some point.

    macklin blows hot and cold

    martinez is usually consistantly hot

you have to favour the more proven guy.

martinez will look to move and pick his shots. macklin will be trying to get close but will have difficulty doing that. a few HARD counters in the first round should make macklin understand the dangers of becoming reckless. i think it will disintegrate into a fight where macklin spends the last few rounds just surviving but sees the final bell. he is very tough and knows how to survive. martinez is just going to be too slick for him in there.

What the Barker fight showed us was that Martinez, like say Nonito Donaire, isn't as effectiven when having to press the action and lead. He was still winning the fight and got his man out of there in impressive style against a negative opponent!

Macklin will likley be walking onto shots all night. I'd be shocked if he survived into the Championship rounds.

Great opportunity for Macklin but a good style match up for Martinez.
