Yeah Bobby stopped Pryor, who was well affected by drugs at this stage of his career.

 

Some of these picks are hardly abscure, but anyway.

My contribution is a guy called Bennie Knoetze, brother of slightly more famous Kallie Knoetze, who fought John Tate in the 70's.

Pierre Coezter, who fought powerpunchers like Bowe, Bruno and Foreman, maintained that Bennie hit him harder than anyone, and by some margin too.

They fought for the SA title in '84, and for the first two rounds Bennie hammered Pierre all over the ring, knocking him down twice (as far as I recall, it may have been more) before being knocked out himself in the 3rd.

He, like his brother, had a porous defence and very little stamina, but like his brother had one heck of a right hand. It was like a wrecking ball.

Norwegian lightheavy Ole Klementsen 45 (36) wins, 6 losses...he hit like a damn heavyweight but had absolutely no defence whatsoever. But if he could land the big righthand the fight was over. Had some decent wins over Crawford Ashley for the EBU title, Thulani Malinga for IBA title and Thomas Hansvoll for the Nordic title. Also fought and lost to Reggie Johnson for his IBF title and Clinton Woods for his EBU title.

If you can find any fights of his they are quite entertaining, he fought with his hands down most of the time trying to counter with single big shots...you just know looking at him he either gonna KO his opponent or get KTFO him self.

 

You have to love this type of fighter.

So many say. But the high life did indeed burn him out well before Bobby got him. I say this as a Pryor critic, i promise.

Ages ago there were some fantastic posts on Pryor's terribly sad childhood, and they went a long way toward explaining why drugs did indeed get the better of him for a time.
