With his style and attributes, he should get out of the game before he's 30. Don't forget, Khan has a chin to rival Roy Jones jr's. When he loses a step, and his hands aren't as fast, he'll get knocked out.

Also, people on here are forgetting, Khan has spent his entire life boxing, in the gym day in day out training. Travelling around the world to fight. By the time he's 28, or 30 that will be 20+ years in boxing. He may have other pursuits in life.

I agree totally with Chatty, I find all this talk a tad disrespectful to the sport as if they think they can do everything in a few years and that's that. As Rico rightly said you will face setbacks in those years.

A smart fighter knows when it's right time to finish up, Personally fight until you feel you've achieved everything. For me i can't see how you can predict how you'll feel in 3 years. Look at Ferguson at United he's stayed on after his initial plan to finish up. Sports like Football and Boxing are a drug and it's not easy to give them up but talking like you can drop it like a bad habit is a bit silly IMO. I respect fighters wanting to go out on own terms but talk of retirement nearer the time.

  6. Yeah, Fergie was going to give it away in 2002 I recall.

I think in his case he doesn't feel ready to step away, and it'd have to be a complete clean break to give the new manager space to do their job.

Leeds and Liverpool both had grief with Revie and Shankly still being around the club and being known as ''boss'' to the players.

Yeah, disrespectful to future opponents too. I hate hearing fighters say "after the such and such fight I'm going to do this/that". Focus on the fight in hand. You can bet your life the other guy will be doing.

damn, hard to believe in 3 years khan will be 28 and a ten year pro.

anyway didnt he plan to become the youngest british world champion ever? yeah things change, I would take these claims with a pinch of salt

He still speaks like he's one of the greatest forces in boxing, gonna breeze through the next three years beating the best the sports got to offer then retire when he fancies.
