Not much to say about that really, it was a late replacement so not much he could do about it but he got the job done. Just like a keep busy fight in truth though with his belt on the line. Pozo was too small and not really good enough in any case to cause McDonnell any trouble.

With Mares and Donaire both going up to 122, I'd hope to see McDonnell get a title shot at bantamweight in 2012 now.

 

At the lower weights there's a huge gap between ''Euro level'' and fighting at world class. To be honest Euro level doesn't really exist, you're just fighting domestic (if that) level guys that are from the continent.

A rematch with Jamoye or Hall would be alright next.
