The Thread Starter makes some very valid points

I actually agree with alot of what you have just said.
    Pascal was a terrible SMW
    Taylor was 1-2 going in
    Many felt Dirrell won
Kessler was an unwell double vision suffering fighter who was coming in off a loss
Abraham is a terrible SMW who was coming in off a loss
Johnson was a journeyman at SMW before and couldnt beat anyone before he moved up to LHW. In fact Johnson has lost more than he has won at SMW and his best win at the weight was A Green coming in off a loss.
Ward who was gassed at the end and Froch didnt do enough. In fact I think Froch exposed Ward a bit as I was surprised Froch won as many rounds as he did in that fight

    But...

Froch has complete respect in that he fought every original member of the over hyped S6 one after the other and was fighting away in 5 of his last 6 fights. Froch as champ often fought away which is a big ask to do so many times (everything to lose and nothing to gain).

Im excited about this fight as the SMW division has been my favourite since the Leonard/Hearns unification years ago.
Bute is champ and fighting away and it will be interesting to see if Froch is as competitive against Bute as he was Ward. I dont think he will be, but I want to watch the fight.

I think Bute wins clearly and gives Ward more reason to avoid him.
Bute wins clear and Ward says Bute has to fight someone else first because he had just beaten Froch. Ward will push for Bute/Dirrell.
    You heard it here first

Bute has actually beaten a SMW title holder in Berrio who contrary to what many would like to say has a better SMW resume than alot of the SMW resumes of the names Froch has beaten. Berrio beat Steiglitz, Berrio has beaten A Echoles, S Vanderpool,
In fact Berrio has a better SMW win resume than Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham and Johnson.
When Bute beat Andrade first time around, Andrade was the #3 SMW (I admit Bute was lucky), the 2nd time Andrade was the #5 SMW. Both Andrade wins are higher rated than anyone Froch has beaten.
Consider Zuniga who Bute beat had KOd Oganov who was Dirrells biggest win going into the Froch fight.

From Showtime's standpoint, this doesn't make sense. Bute has one fight left with them and they pushed for Ward-Bute to happen which Ward & Goosen refused to do. The reasoning behind not taking Froch-Bute as Bute's last fight on the network is to have Ward-Bute happen later on this year... when you consider that Ward himself suggested that Bute faced Froch minutes after the S6 finals during the post-fight presser, Bute beating Froch should satisfy both Showtime & Ward in regards to building a Ward-Bute fight.

One fight left, and it's HBO time for Bute after that. Showtime would look like a total failure of a company if they let Ward-Bute happen on HBO, considering they signed Bute for the sole purpose of having him meet the S6 champ.

We will have to see. Im not disputing what you have said, but if Ward was in such a hurry to get those belts he would want to fight Bute. I get the feeling Ward isnt convinced he will win, so wont want it if Bute wins clearly.
We will have to see, but thats what I think will happen

If Ward won't fight him by Spring 2013, Bute should move up and forget all about him.

Assuming Bute beats Froch, he should have two more fights at SMW, against Ward and against Kessler. There's no-one else left.

Bute boxes froch's big nose off. Froch is too slow big mouth little to back it up. Career about over for the pelican nose froch, bute on an easy points win. Romania beats the brits.

Bute has put so much effort in now with 10 world title fights it would be a shame if the Ward fight didnt happen. If Ward continues to avoid Bute, he should go for the Kessler/Steiglitz winner and could then go for good other names like Balzsay, Sartison etc and if Dirrell starts beating some SMWs of note he could fight him.

The problem with changing weight divisions is that some fighters just cant compete in a different weight division, yet can do well in others. We know Bute is a very good SMW and at least there he can carve his legacy.
If Ward was to move up, Butes name would overtake Wards as Bute was calling Ward out and looking better against common opponents

You`re biased.Joppy wasn`t so good but I exampled you Bute DID fight some names.

If you follow this logic the beginning fights of Bute are better than the above mentioned by you.I think until 36 you can`t invoque age can you?.Calzaghe showed it, didn,`t he?

Magee and Johnson are Top Ten according to Rong AND WERE SHOWED BY SHOWTIME.So Carl Froch is good for but not for Bute. He`s the big finalist, but six months later is too old...Same with Johnson.Go to school...

You didn`t answer my question:Who did KO Andrade before Bute?I`ll pose one more question.Who will from now on?

Bute BEAT Andrade TWICE.You can`t pretend to win when you take 2 rounds from 16 and you only put down your opponent cause he did fight with a poisoning from food and gassed in final tenths of seconds.According to IBF Bute had to CLEAR THE FLOOR WHAT IN TEN SECONDS AND HE DID. If you think in ten fights from now on Andrade could win one against Bute you have to check your logic.

Froch is true warrior ! He fought with the best opposition from 168 p. and now he will fight with Lucian.
I expect a tough fight for Bute because Froch will be very motivated in this fight.

Froch is an awkward fighter with a good jab-reach , stamina, determination and decent power . Not to mention about his heart and his chin. These things can give troubles to any fighter.
I'm not praise Froch , this is the pure true. :yep
