Define boxing then. Is moving in and throwing a lead left hook "boxing"? Or is "boxing" to you dancing around throwing a jab, and an occasional combination and then moving back out? I just want to be clear. You say "outmuscled" or "out fought", can you give examples of those as well. I honestly am missing something here. So what did SRL do to him? Outmuscle him? Out fight him? I know Hearns started to win the boxing match midway, but he got outboxed in the beginning and definitely in the end.....Hearns became the boxer and Leonard became the stalker, but don't you think at the end of the fight it was Leonard that made the necessary adjustments and did what he had to do to "win the boxing match"?

Hearns would beat Winky Wright at 154...too big, too fast, better jab, more power, damn near impossible to outbox.
there have been alot of talented boxers to stop there in this division. but Legacy wise i think McCallum and Norris i like at that weight and were deadly there also. For me Hearns was the perfect Welterweight but had he fought at 154 he would have been great there also.

I dont know Winky is a brilliant technical fighter. Not saying he would beat Hearns but it wont be as easy as some think.
My issue with sticking Wright in there is because of his 2 losses at 154, one of which he was KD 5 times. I can't see him standing in there with McCallum or Hearns. Specially Hearns.....Wright is a boxing wizard for sure, but people always forget, Hearns may be one of the top 5 BOXERS to ever live. It was nearly impossible to outbox Hearns.
But then he lost to Vargas as well in a close fight. I was wrong, he has 3 losses at 154. Not a single one of those guys was in the league of Hearns in any catagory IMO. And McCallum would have just beaten Wright. Cleanly and soundly.
If Jermaine Taylor could penetrate Wright's defense, if Vargas could, Hearns could. Hearns hits much harder than both, and he hits much harder than Trinidad. He is also more technically sound than either.
