IF George had come into the ring against Holyfield weighing 235 pounds, do you think the fight would have been different? How detrimental to George's comeback was the added weight? Was it a positive or a negative? Do you think George added the extra weight on purpose during his second career, or do you think it was just a natural progression of an aging athlete who liked to eat? When Foreman fought Qawi, his weight was listed at 235, and he looked pretty good at that weight.

To answer the first question - He would've been outhustled even if he came into the ring lighter.

To answer the second question - The first part of George's comeback was when he was focused on getting his fighting weight down. By around 1990 though (I think), he realized that having alot of added mass made it easier for him to bully his opponents around, and when he could fight comfortably at that weight, why bother losing it?

I know he's been quoted as saying that the extra weight he was carrying around in the latter part of his comeback was part of his strategy of being a gigantic deadnaught :D

Funny, I just mentioned this on the Ruddock thread.
Foreman would have been better between 235-240.
He was heavy for so long it would have taken time to get used to an even lower weight like 230. When used to the weight, it would have have helped. George lacked that killer instinct that he had in the 70's.
