Video footage of both (Mormeck training and Frazier in a competition) and it's clearly obvious who the stronger, better athlete is. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

 

A pole vaulter was actually stronger than the Heavyweight champion back in the 70's. But to be fair, Frazier did beat the race car driver.:good

1. Mormeck was a lightheavy at 28 weighing 172, frazier was a fat kid working down to 210. You can argue mormeck was fighting at the wrong weight, however when he went up to cruiserweight he fought at 185 when the limit was 190. So he was small 190 fighter at his peak. Fraizer generally fought at 200-210 so he was bigger than Mormeck.

2. Last time Mormeck was prime was in 2007 against Haye, 5 years ago. Frazier retired at 33 or somethink like that.

3. This was Mormeck pension fight, he got it because of his link with Haye. He had a couple of dubious wins over poor fighters at heavyweight in an era of very poor heavyweights. He did not even fight a Peters or Chageav. The blunt answer is if he had to fight a top ten heavyweight with a pulse he would have lost.

4. Mormeck is the easiest title defence Wladimir has made.

A valid comparison would be Haye beating up Hopkins in a cruiserweight fight, and then saying Haye is better than Evander Holyfield using your logic.

I seriously hope that you didn't base that on the mormeck fight. And who was the idiot that linked a weightlifting/swimming competition. It's a totally diffrent sport and smoking joe had the stamina and heart of 10 mormecks.

Beating Mormeck doesn't mean Wlad beats Frazier. It means he beats Tyson dummy.

 

It is well known Frazier was never a natural athlete like Ali or Holyfield were, but both Ali and Holyfield lost to 2 that weren't very good athletes like Bowe and Frazier. But lace a pair of gloves on them athletics can kiss their ass. And if you want to bring in muscles and athletics and think thats a true successful formula for boxing you better think again. If you want to bring Wlads athleticism look no further than Ross Purrity and Corrie Sanders. Oh yea Purrity and Sanders were much more athletic than Wlad I'm so sure. roll:
