Mayweather fought brussels before he fought Gatti, what are you talkin about? That fight took place at 140 before mayweather ever sniffed headlining a ppv.

Shotto is one of the most shameful Floyd cherrypicks yet, unbelievable the amount of green mother****ers that think this fight will be even slightly competitive

Funny how troll ass Alojk and Meth Head Lance Uppercunt are making excuses and trying to still put blame on Floyd. Doesn't surprise me with their smoked out jobless asses. Lance Cotto just threw your ***** ass under the bus and you need to just give it up. Why you continue to talk **** to others and defend this ducking argument just shows how much hate you have for Floyd and it also shows that you need to get off that ****. Go ahead and respond back with some bull**** about my gym or something as if I would give out info to two ****ing trolls like you and your smoked out buddy Alojk.

You suck that Mayweather sack girl.

Mayweather chose Ortiz in particular because he had beaten the dangerous Berto in a close fight where Berto was clearly not his best. He has done it before, e.g. fighting Baldomir.

The difference here is that Cotto doesn't claim to be better than Ali and Ray Robinson, never took year-long vacations, and hasn't ever complicated a fight to the magnitude Floyd has. Cotto doesn't seem like the type to manage his career in a way that depends on any one fighter or megafight, and it's worked for him. There were still quotes back then of Miguel saying "I don't know why he won't fight me, he always has an excuse." Blaming Arum is not likely to be incorrect, as usual, but I think the public will still bash Floyd more because he talks the talk and then doesn't go out of his way to fight someone like Cotto after his best win.

It's not that Floyd wasn't scared, it was just a big name he could have possibly had on his resume were he active during a hot welterweight era that he didn't for a long long time.

I see your point that you are making but it doesn't change the fact that Mayweather offered to face Cotto back then and was told he wasn't ready. It doesn't matter that Mayweather claims to be better than Ali or Robinson. He didn't duck Cotto and that was clear then and its clear now.

Floyd is always criticised for not fighting Cotto after the Hatton fight, which was pretty much the perfect time.

However, Miguel never called him out and I'm sure Arum (the snaky ****) didn't want it either. If memory served me right, Floyd did ask for Cotto after the Gatti fight but was told that Cotto was too green- can't fault Floyd for this situation.

The only fighter he ducked back then was Margarito, even Ray Charles would see it, whenever you mentioned the Mexican's name, Floyd would start stuttering and have an emotional breakdown. Unlike others I don't fault him for that, he had just moved into the welterweight division and was not as strong/muscular as he is now. Some may say Floyd would've easily beaten him but until he got into the ring you wouldn't know, Margarito back then in 2007 applied immense pressure with a rock hard chin, he could've possibly overwhelmed Floyd.

Well I rarely take "duck" arguments seriously, I'm just saying the fact they didn't fight makes Floyd look worse when he could have tried to fight him at the best time possible post-Hatton/Mosley because of his status and the fact that the alternative was a vacation.

Why should floyd try to fight a guy at the best time possible? You people need to grow and stop this bull****, this is real life, this is boxing. You think a boxer gonna sit on his ass and say hey i'm gonna wait for this guy to be right at his peak before i decide to challenge him :rofl

Yeah but they turned Floyd down back when Floyd approached them for a fight. He was too green, is what they said. Then Arum said Floyd was scared of Cotto and now Floyd is the ducker according to some people.
