Gamboa probably should have spoken up for his fans benefit, but damn you guys are over-reacting.. Seriously...

Tim Bradley was bashed by pretty much all of ESB for not taking the Khan fight, and they stated it was because of the promoters and he didn't want to risk his chance of getting a Pac fight.. Fast forward to now and I'm sure 90% or more of those posters are excited about and getting or going to the Pac fight. Gamboa will be just fine in a month of two.. Typical ESB blow up that will die down soon as he has a good fight lined up..

The hold-up is that they announced the fight before he signed anything. Like Billy C said on TalkinBoxing Radio - Arum is looking to get rid ofGamboa cos he doesn't have enough control of him.

People want to blame Gamboa but he didn't sign, so blame the dicks that announced this fight.

I would have liked to see that as well honestly.. But I'm not seeing anyone cry or ***** about that now, they're happy with the Pac fight. Gamboa's fans will be happy as soon as he's lined up in another match. Maybe some who forked out money to fly to the press conference will be upset down the line, but majority will get over it. Just the newest thing to ***** about on ESB.

Gamboas my fave fighter but he has no leg to stand on here, you skipped the presser for you're own fight what's Rios(your opponenet who deserves to be pissed) suppposed to talk about? If Rios didn't show you bet your ass Gamboa would talk about it.....anyone would!

Blame Arum for staging a press conference and announcing the fight before the contracts were signed which is more than likely ol Bob trying to pressure Gamboa into taking the fight under shady circumstances

I for one applaud Gamboa, Pac gets anal raped financially on a fight by fight basis, Gamboa aint Bobs pet like Chavez and Pacquiao

Guys stop being dumbasses, It was Top Rank's responsibility to cancel the events. Gamboa told them in advance he wouldn't come. Gamboa was in Vegas and had no intention in coming to Miami for that event. Did you know that Carl Moretti himself is the one who called Abril to ask him to go front Rios in Miami? Top Rank knew that Gamboa wasn't coming. Actually, the press conference in Miami was just a show to put pressure on him, knowing that it would make him look bad if he didn't attend. DuBoeff is just acting in that recent video, he knew Gamboa wasn't coming, they hoped he would but they knew he wasn't.

Btw, I do agree Gamboa acted like a btch with some of his fans, some people bought plane tickets and all. But he's trying to screw Top Rank and he thought it was the only way. As he said it himself, if he doesn't stand up for himself, no one else will.

those are all assumptions on ur part.

    1) he's still training...that tells me he's prepping for the fight just in case toprank gives him a contract to sign.

    2) he never signed a contract. agreeing to terms isn't the same as signing a contract. ask yourself this...why didn't they give him a contract to sign before promoting the fight?

he told them he wouldn't be going. was he supposed to tell someone else? the media? it's pretty simple really.

    signed contract = fight

    no contract = no fight
