    Stupid generalization.

On ESB you get everything from the very brightest, most knowledgeable posters all the way to the most ignorant and ill-informed, and everything in between.

Even the title of this thread should indicate which end of the scale the threadstarter is at.

PW is a guy who relied on somewhat freakish talents to get it done. He is a huge WW, his reach is unreal, and his workrate is way out there. That was what he relied on.

Dawson is much more "normal". He doesn't have any talents that are freakish or stand out except that one can say he's got a lot of natural talent. He's much more well rounded. His chin is a question for sure but Dawson is just the better overall fighter.

Dawson is a step up from Williams on the talent ladder and that has been there to see.

Williams was getting by with his freakish size and workrate, he has numerous holes.

Dawson is much more fundamentally sound, he doesn't have to rely on his size like PW does.

Dawson is on his way to being a star.

Williams is on his way to being a perrenial contender/belt holder but won't hit the pfp level that Dawson will.

Johnson is a live dog in their bout and if Dawson was to lose that doesnt necessarily mean he got exposed.

Williams is a different story. He was exposed. As a fighter who has no plan B and has no idea how to handle southpaws.

Exposed is a term wayyy overused on this board. I think it fits to a degree with Williams though.

Bah! Williams has one bad night, and he's thrown to the scrap heap by the "experts". Saturdays result just confirmed Cotto and Mayweather are on an island by themselves, and should fight before the year is out.

If you say Dawson has no defense, you're a damn fool. He'll get hit too often flushly with his defensive style, but he's much better defensively than most big fighters.

he has no business and future at 147lbs thats all I'm saying. Hes destroying his body and if he moved way up in weight than I think he could better his career and definitely prolong his career. If he stays at 147 for ever he will be totally washed up and incapable of fighting by the time hes 30.

Exactly, and skills are something Williams has very little of, which is why it was ridiculous for people to hype him as a monster. Thus, to those people, 'exposed'.

No amature experience might very well be the reason for the chinks in PWs armor.

    But they're still there.

He had no idea what to do when Quintana started landing those lead and counter lefts. He did it all night long.

I think PW is a good welterweight contender and he might be able to fix some of those holes.

But I get the feeling the blueprint for beating PW has been drawn.
