I recall years ago a small Indian/P akistani lad who was hyped up under the Ingle banner. He had 1 fight which was a fortunate draw and then vanished. Around 2001

    Anyone recall the name?

    What happened to him?

    Thanks for that.

Khalid Shafiq fought a draw in 1998 against a bum on the the Harry Simon v Winky Wright card in South Africa

The newspaperbuild up said: Shafiq himself asserts he will end up being twice as good as Hamed - a bold statement indeed from a youngster who will not be able to fight in Britain until his 18th birthday under Boxing Board of Control regulations.

amazing how someone could get that amount of hype and then flop so badly. Turning the lad pro at 16 is bonkers too.

Its hard to take Ingle seriously, every couple of years he has a fighter every bit as good as Naz or better.

If you had a kid starting out to box who would honestly send them to the Ingle gym? I know i wouldn't. I bet there's more fighters they've ruined then turned into good ones. I'm talking just strictly from a boxing point of view btw. I know they've done a lot for the community and in helping young kids in their personal lives. I don't like the Ingle boxing methods though. You just can't train everyone the same way, especially when that way is simply anti technique. Maybe a little harsh, but just my opinion.

According to someone on this forum, I forget who, he was put away a few months after his debut. Drugs or Armed Robbery if memory serves me right.

'Too Sleek' iirc. Remember tuning in to watch him challenge for the IBO belt, overseas I think?
