That is not the point. The point is HE called Rios out, HE went ahead and made the world believe he would fight. Why shoulnt we the fans be dissapointed?

If Gamboa hadnt opened his mouth, nobody would have even imagined these two fighting

It was a stupid fight for HBO to make. Why would Gamboa at 126, and not a big 126 want to fight Rios who didn't even make 135 last time out. I think Broner can come up to fight Rios at 135 or Gamboa can come up to 130 to fight Broner. Whoever made or tried to make the Rios-Gamboa fight is an idiot. Stupid, terrible matchup. The fight may have been exciting but that's beside the point.

 

poor gamboa, he still has to build a strong fanbase like the *****s. gamboa should be commended by now for even entertaining the idea of fighting rios per ***** logic. he should get more props for not being forced to take fights he doesn't really want now. and no one is doing that for him. we have to see how the *****s warm up to him though.

Because one month ago on the scene gamboa the coward agreed to the fight and terms after valiantly calling Rios until h realized how much of a puss he is and came up with issues to duck.

Where's the proof? He could have easily publicly made such a statement and all this would have been avoided.

 

Are you guys wanting proof dumb or what? If there was a link everyone would know by now. I confirm what garfios says is true, I don't know where he took it from but what I know is straight from Gamboa's entourage. They don't want to talk to the press right now for some reason. My guess is they're trying to work on this contract thing subtle without the media being involved more then they are now.

All I can tell you is that Gamboa does have a contract with Oner and Top Rank but with very bad terms. He has NO contract for the fight with Rios, and knowing that Top Rank went too far with this fight to go back, he is using this as leverage to try to get better terms in his promotional contracts, or no fight. Btw, Gamboa did advise Top Rank in advance that he would not come to any of the promo conferences. Top Rank are good at what they do and they're just acting as if they didn't know to get into Gamboa's head and put fan pressure on him. Carl Moretti himself called Abril to ask him to go to the press conference and front Rios, because he knew Yuri wasn't attending and he needed some action there...this last piece of info doesn't come from Gamboa, it comes from Abril himself.

 

I would love for this fight to happen, but Gamboa is having problems with Top Rank and I dont blame him one bit. Its a shame Top Rank is making it seem fighters have to bow down to them at all times. Good for Gamboa for standing his ground. Rios is very confident because of his size over Gamboa, but that will perhaps be his biggest mistake. Gamboa is no push over and Rios should start looking to fight someone else at this moment. Plenty of names at 135 and 140 for Rios.

 

Somebody should tell Gamboa that no-having-fanbase nobodies like him aren't allowed to pull diva acts like this. He's a ***** and should have spoken before the tickets went on sale. He doesn't even have that many fans and he's already showing zero respect for them. I hope Rios mauls him badly if the fight is ever made.

 

Ríos does seem to have some slight Down syndrome.
