All the guys I sparred recently are mostly veterans who have 30-66 lbs on me. I always lead with the jab but unless I hit them clean my jab has no chance of penetrating their guard. I can give them a right jab/left straight combination with everything behind it and they just absorb it with their guard like its nothing. When I do find a hole I rarely take advantage of it with more than jab because If I get countered by someone who has 60 lbs on me it will hurt even if he has no bad intent behind it.

When I do spar someone my weight I'm surprised how easily I can land my jab through their guard, so I guess it makes good training but it's just frustrating that I can barely land anything clean against guys much heavier than me except the occasional jab

use fients to counter or make them move their hands. im assuming your as tall or shoter than the heavier guys. bob and weave coming in after a couple shots and angle off. move your hands to create punches and fill the holes. like teddy says punches in bunches.

i like to use a quick jab. then fient later on and throw a straight right instead.

you are faster naturaly because your weight is lower then opponents. if you try to speed up the pace of fight, you could burn out (its not the rule, but if he is experienced he will set up his defense right). i use to spar with heavier opponents (30 kg heavier, he weares 20oz, me 12oz :)), you should get in mid range, feint and hit where is open and get out. jab, feint, hit, counter etc. his arms are way longer then mine so standing in long range is not good as well as infighting where he crushes me.

Learn how to move with a purpose, not just moving to move. Learn how to feint and how to counter punch. Slip and parry punches instead of blocking them; that way you don't feel the weight difference so much.
Why are you trying to punch through somebody's guard? Make him lead and hit the openings.
Watch Billy Conn fight Joe Louis in their first fight.

Your not supposed be able to hit through the guard if you can that persons guard sucks, hit them where they are unguarded (the body) and make them open up the guard with feints.

Doesn't Klitschko do it all the time with his jab?
