In response to an earlier thread on how pbf needs to beat Cotto to get 100% respect I'd also like to add that I feel he needs to beat Mosley. I put Mosley and Cotto on level terms at the moment, as I scored the Mosley/Cotto fight for Mosley by a round but it was a very close fight so I can see how the judges scored it like that. I also feel that Mosley would cause Mayweather more problems than Cotto would. Having said that, I dont think anyone dominated anyone, and we're lucky to have such a talented triangle of fighters in a division (even if the main guy refuses to fight any serious compeititon)
So because you cant beat someone to the punch means you cant win the fight ? Really, nice logic there dip****. Wonder how Mayweather beat Judah then ?
Well, if he's getting beat to the punch by Cotto, he's definitely going to get tagged by Floyd. Easy for Floyd, too quick and smart.
i never really liked floyd but i give him a lot of respect now that he beat hatton. which i didnt feel he would so easily. having sed that i would love to see him fight cotto to seal his legacy and silence the critics. but u have to remember if he does fight cotto and wins there will always be someone else. if not cintron or williams then maybe andre berto etc. there is always one more and i feel ppl dont give floyd the credit he deserves. i personally couldnt stand the guy, with his personality and ****, but then i realised hes not really like that he just likes to play the villian on camera.
Mosley has declined you could see it in the Cotto fight. His hands are nowhere as fast and was beaten to the punch at times by Cotto. PBF would do the same only worse and skate to a clear UD win.
atsch Being P4P best in the world and fighting an old promoter 2 times and a Junior Welterweight ISN'T good enough. It's that simple.
I'll be happy if Floyd beats Cotto. He does that and he cements his legacy. A win over Mosley would be discredited by many people who say he's old and well past his prime. At this point, Mayweather wins a very clear decision over Shane.
I love Floyd fans, not suggesting you are one, that go on and on about how he'll never please us boxing fans. They make it sound like Floyd has just fought somebody with any chance of beating him. If he beats Cotto, he will no doubt be the greatest fighter of not only now but his generation. Never does he get top 20 P4P status though. The fighters aren't around anymore. If he had fought and beat prime Hoya and prime Mosley, that's a different story.
