Gamboa is in the Ring's Top Ten.. thoughts? Was he the best fighter next, or should Cotto, Peterson, Mares, or Nishioka get it?? Or another fighter?

Plus, is he still fighting Rios?

My thoughts... I figured it would be him or Cotto who gets it... wouldn't be surprised to see Hopkins either... next after these guys is definitely Nishioka if he becomes active again and someone on in the top ten loses....

He is the top dog at 126. Hopkins had a iffy outing with Dawson and Cotto only beat one top 10 154 fighter so it seems reasonable.

There are very few currently active fighters who I would describe as "great" or "P4P," and yet there are 10 spots on the Ring's P4P list. So, the bottom half is constantly fluctuating and it is really a matter of opinion whether to include someone or not.

For me, Gamboa has not yet proved his greatness. Fighting Rios and winning would help, but it is still anyone's guess as to whether that will happen or not.

lol.. talent wise I feel the same way man...... Gamboa is gonna become the face of boxing sooner or later..... even if he loses.. the guy is just too exciting to not get popular.. he just needs more/ better fights and better promotion

Like I have been saying for years ... the Cubans are back!

Yes, Gamboa does deserve to be in the top 10 P4P. If/when he beats Rios he will easily be in the top 5 P4P. Gamboa and Rigondeaux are the two best Cuban talents to ever defect to US shores. You better believe that he deserves that spot, and he will keep on climbing fast! ;)

I have him in the same vicinity as well. He has a fair number of pretty good wins, and none of them have even been close.
