Nice stiff jabs by Rodriguez. Tanada misses two point blank shots, and gets hooked in the face. They lean together bumping foreheads and trade slashing body shots. Right hand by Rodriguez on the step-back. Rodriguez is using good movement, and constantly jabbing Tanada in the face. Tanada keeps overextending with his own, and missing. Rodriguez is changing position too fast for him. Nice double jabs by Rodriguez, brushing Tanada's hair with them as he tries ducking in. Left hook by Rodriguez. Tanada again takes it well.

Tanada presses in, trying to shovel in some body shots from outside and getting jabbed on the brow. Very sharp accurate quick jabs by Rodriguez while gliding around to his left. Now he hooks off it. Right hand down the middle. Ballet-like movement and control by Rodriguez. BIG LEFT HOOKS AND STRAIGHT RIGHTS BY RODRIGUEZ!!! HOLY ****, TANADA JUST TOOK ABOUT TEN FLUSH BOMBS!!! Damn, this boy is tough! Tanada now comes pouring it back at him, throwing hard uppercuts. BIG RIGHT HAND COUNTER BY RODRIGUEZ OVER A WIDE TANADA LEFT HOOK!!! TANADA IS ROCKED VERY BADLY!! HE KEEPS SLUGGING AWAY, THOUGH!!!! BIG EXCHANGE!! RODRIGUEZ IS LANDING MUCH HARDER!!!! TANADA IS BACKED UP TO THE CORNER!!! STOPPED!! NO?? WHAT??!?! BIG RIGHT HAND BY RODRIGUEZ!!

WTF JUST HAPPENED????

The referee jumped in prematurely thinking the round was over (mistaking a vuvulueza for the bell), even though there were about fifteen seconds left. Then he called time in again - but couldn't hear the actual bell when it did sound, thanks to all the noise and commotion. CRAZY

Rodriguez lands a thudding left hook while circling by Tanada. Quick jabs coming up off his heels by Rodriguez. Slower pace here, with Rodriguez taking a breather and just outboxing Tanada on the outside. Tanada lunges with right hands, missing as Rodriguez circles very wide. They keep waltzing, with Tanada doing all the punching and all the missing. Now a jab or two from Rodriguez. Big overhand right by Rodriguez, on a bad trajectory and pulled halfway into its arc as Tanada jerks back out of the way. Double hook by Rodriguez as Tanada is throwing his own left hook. They both miss, but Rodriguez grazes him with his second hook. Jabs by Rodriguez while circling.
