Was thre any fighters that suffred bad injury to one arm but made out okay despite injury to themself? I know there wont be any. But did any fighters brake dislocate a shoulder an do okay? Question sounds dumb but just a question
Tua & McCall r usually considered 1 armed . isn't Evander Holyfield 1 2 ? I think James Toney gave up on his left hook somewhere along d way many yrs ago . edit : didn't guess TS' intention correctly from d title alone . anyway , McCall fought 1 armed vs Juan Carlos Gomez , with his left alone , I think in both fights including d 1 that Gomez was caught on PEDs . Tua also suffered a problem in his shoulder , I think against Chris Byrd .
Marcel Cerdan is the obvious one here, he was pushed/thrown to the canvas in the 1st round against Jake LaMotta. Cerdan continued for 8 1/2 more rounds one handed, untill he quit on his stool between rounds 9 & 10... the film footage is clear you see him being forced to the mat and you see him fighting with his right holding his left whicch he only released about 3-5 times in those 8 1/2 rounds. that injury cost him the title and the schedualed return cost him his life, as he was killed in a plane crash. there's other case for sure but that is probably the most famous.
Danny Williams. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY1jzjTjIhY[/ame] Wins by KO with a dislocated shoulder.
JEsus Chavez suffered a torn rotator cuff against Morales and was restricted to the 1 arm, he didn't throw the right at all. He managed to win rounds against Morales with only 1 arm too
Barney Ross fought Ceferino Garcia, I believe it was, after breaking or otherwise damaging his right thumb in training.
Buddy McGirt had a cronic shoulder problem which meant he couldn't throw his best punch. Still went on to have a very good career. Colin McMillan dislocated his shoulder in his first title defence. Which he never recovered from. I know that wasn't the question but why not share it anyway.
Billy Soose broke his hand on Al Quaill's head but still outboxed him and captured the decision. The injury never healed properly and he spent the rest of his career a one-handed fighter. Not a bad career at that!
John Conteh was virtually one handed in soundly defeating Yaqui Lopez. Ernie Terrel may as well have been born with a dysfunctional right hand for all the good it did him in his career.
