As a huge fan, the guy is done as a top-level fighter. His heart and his head aren't in it anymore, and his flaws are now even more blatant as he can't just overpower and KO everyone now.
Work himself back into title contention at 130. It's an open division and I think the less weight cut will benefit him. He needs to put more work in the gym and fix up his flaws though.
This is boxing and we have seen this happen before. Whos to say if Juanma faces Gamboa he doesnt defeat him? Thats why I love this sport. Salido could face Gamboa again and lose and then Juanma gets a chance of a life time to face Gamboa, the critics, the fans and writers are saying this is carzy. Gamboa will murder Juanma, people will be made fun off if they feel Juanma has a chance and then bam we are talking how a wonderful the fight was and is crazy how Juanma loses to Salido and defeats Gamboa as an example or any future opponent Salido loses too.
Trust me you and myself give Juanma very little chance to defeat Gamboa. But thats exactly what I mean this is boxing and anything could happen. Its just not Gamboa it could be anyone down the road were Salido gets beaten by any opponent and then Juanma defeats that guy. To those that are saying Juanma should retire or was a hype job are being ridiculous. The guy for some just lets his emotions and crowd dictate how he fights and thats why Salido will always own him because he just cant go toe to toe with a guy who could handle his power and not have any defense with that.
I'd like to see JuanMa become a mentor for kids with brain disorders. he could motivate them with his own story.
He's not going anywhere we expected him to. I think he should cash in with Gamboa and possibly another name including a third fight with Salido from 126 to 130...
Lopez is still a good fighter, give him a chance to rebound against someone not named Salido. I thought he fought better near the end when he started to brawl, in hindsight he should have done that from the beginning. He just doesn't look comfortable trying to be a slick boxer. he's a bad interview but still a tough fighter, let's give some credit to Salido.
he should try steward, or wildcard or ann wolf....a big time trainer who could pick his confidence back up or somebody that has rebuilt a fighter back up.
dude look like crap against mtagwa. looked like crap in both salido fights. he cant make 126 comfortably any more. move up
