Gamboa told Top Rank he wasn't going to the press conferences and they still decided to go ahead. That's why Carl Moretti called Abril and asked him to go front Rios, he knew Gamboa wasn't coming. Abril himself confirmed that.

And Rios/Gamboa would have been a Vegas show and he's headlined there before. And headlining in Vegas isn't that big of a deal anyway, apart from Mayweather and Pacquiao no one sells a lot of tickets in Vegas. Gamboa has **** all of a fan base as well.
