I bet you just used Boxrec, & ingored the important fact that some TKO's are in fact brutal KO's, where the ref steps & decides not to count, in order to not allow the brutal KO-Victim a chance to possibly get up, & be dangerously hurt.

I would give Vitali a good shot of beating a prime Tyson but lets be honest Tyson was over the hill in most of those fights. Fighters that fight like Tyson are old even at 34.

controversial? The mans eye was about to fall out. Yes there should have been a rematch and yes Vitali was ahead but the fight was only half way over. You can't say for sure Vitali would have won. They both were tired. To bad he got cut that was a fun fight to watch. I knew when I seen that cut that the fight was over for Vitali. I've never seen a cut that bad.

 

Look at the progression of the cut from round 3-6.

2 cuts about the left eye

1 cut below the eye

1 cut on the left cheek

Swollen mouth and cut lip

60 stitches

3 months to heal

Advised not to box for at least 6 months.

The doctor asked Vitali a question and Vitali had to raise his head to see him, his eye lid was that badly damaged. One more haymaker and he could have potentially been blinded or had his career permanantly halted.

So yeah...Vitali was really on the verge of winning that fight(!)

If Vitali really does have a PhD and is a 'sports anatomy doctor' he should be intelligent enough to understand why the fight was stoppped.

To his credit, Vitali couldnt give a **** less. You cant criticize the guy for pulling out with a torn rotator cuff and then talk about how his health was at risk in the Lewis fight, one in which he probably was willing to die in the ring for. I'm sure the statements by Lewis and others with a public voice speaking on Vitali's 'lack of heart' in days leading up to the fight played a role.
