Joe louis. He is beyond overated and in todays boxing world wouldnt win a title at CW and would get that jaw shattered. Yeah i know he was a tough SOB but he only had a couple good named wins. Even the way they boxed back then was different

Haye vs louis= haye by brutal KO.

I think the klitchskos would do well against Smokin Joe just because of the height differences

Jack Dempsey... check out his brutal KO1 loss to horrendous bum Fireman Flynn, & his decision losses to morbidly obese Ex-Flyweight Fat Willie Meehan.

To be honest, guys like Louis, Patterson, Dempsey would not be fighting at HW today, would probably be LHWs or CWs so it's really unfair to compare them to Klitschko's.

Dempsey is the smallest guy there. He was like 185 to 190 pounds. Everyone else on the list was at least 200 pounds.

I also think Joe Louis. Lets not forget-90 % of the opposition he fought was terrible. I mean REALLY terrible.

On that list? Smokin Joe IMO, or maybe Johnson.

Styles do make fights though, so it depends greatly on the opponent.

Impossible it has been proven that for every 10 years that passes a retired fighters strength, stamina, skill, punch resistance goes up 2 fold.
By the time you go back to black and white footage the fighters needed weighted clothing just so they would not fly off like supermen.

People like Joe Louis could crumble mountains just by staring rather menacingly.
Which just makes me wonder why people still watch boxing nowadays as obviously everybody is terrible.

The evolution in boxing occurred before Louis not after. His style would not need to be altered if he was around today.
