    Hey guys,

I recently bout Titlebout Boxing, which is a fight simulator. It inputs the attributes of any boxer who has every fought and predicts a winner. I have since come up with an idea for a tournament to find out who is the greatest heavyweight of all-time. I will put 16 fighters into the tournament, and post each fight's results here for everyone to read. The results consist of a fight summary, officials, coaches, etc listings, a detailed blow-by-blow analysis of the fight, and the announcement of the final verdict.

There will be a different thread for each fight, I will update everyone of the tournament progress on a regular basis, so keep an eye out for the fight results threads!

This thread, is designed to inform everyone who may be interested in finding out who the greatest heavyweight of all-time is and reading a detailed commentary of a theoretical fight between two greats from different times.

However I do need 16 fighters to imput into the tournament, so I thought I'd ask you guys. If you could list 16 fighters who you think should be in the tournament then I will tally the results and get the most wanted fighters in the tournament. Please remember that I do want variety, so I have already chosen 2 fighters for the tournament, the first ever heavyweight champion John L Sullivan, and the current heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

So let me know your lists guys, and what you think of this idea. If you have any questions regarding the tournament, the fighters, or how the simulator works, please feel free to ask!

An interesting idea, although it wont really confirm anything about who is the best, but it could be a bit of fun anyway:

I've decided to pick a couple of people from each decade, here they are in reverse chronological order:

    2000s:
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Lennox Lewis

    1990s:
    Evander Holyfield

    1980s:
    Mike Tyson
    Larry Holmes

    1970s:
    George Foreman
    Joe Frazier
    Muhammed Ali

    1960s:
    Sonny Liston

    1950s:
    Rocky Marciano
    Floyd Patterson
    Ezzard Charles

    1940s:
    Joe Louis

    1920s:
    Jack Dempsey

    1900s:
    Sam Langford
    Jack Johnson

I couldn't decide who to suggest from the 1930's, Joe Louis can count for that too. ;)

many technical aspects - control factor (ring generalship) vs boxer or vs slugger, defense, intellect, ability to fight outside, inside, cover up, go for ko, clinching, and also ability to fight on ropes.. those are technical, and there are probably more that i can't remember..

    Sounds pretty interesting.

Be keen to see how you handle the cross generational problems.
