Gamboa alledgedly took a 70 Grand advance for the fight and is getting sued. Let's all wait till all the information is in.
You have a perfect example of Arum's manipulations; he knew Gamboa woundt fight Rios, he set up the rios - Abril melee in Miami , now he is announcing rios vs Abril. Does Rios deserves this?, draining to 135 against somebody unknown 2 wks ago? Rios doesn't need the damn belt,he can fight high profile fights at LW or jr WW.Ans still he's taking a risk against somebody he doesn't know , risking his health and his career.
Gamboa is acting like a f'n diva thinking he's some huge draw like De La Hoya or Mayweather.. He just pissed off HBO with this little ego trip and that's not a good thing. Now that TR has filed a suit against him all the facts will come out and we'll see how this thing goes.

As a non-Cuban, you have to admit, Abril conveniently being present at a press conference is just a coincidence? He just happened to be there to get lunch? Then, the fighter that most of us have never heard of gets the Rios fight. If a fight needed some pre-fight shenanigans to create a buzz, this was it. Its been said plenty of times, what's best for the fans isn't what's best for the fighters. You know good and well they knew Gamboa would be the one looking like the bad guy in this. When Donaire got messed up by signing with GBP, he wasn't saying anything while that was going on. Anytime something goes on in court, you rarely hear from the one getting sued until its over.
