Dlh weighed 149 on the night of the fight. Why? I dont know. Point is it was a very weak DLH and hardly note worthy. Again Cotto at 145. I recall the lineal mosley offering to come even lower than that. But Cotto nearly lost to Clottey. Clottey was uncalled for. Margarito was uncalled for. Shoved down our throats/pointless. Then Marquez nearly defeats him. Denies Cotto at 150. Sure floyd is supposed to fight these 147 guys but he is facing them at their most comfortable, very best, coming off very impressive performances. Thats what a p4p fighter does. Not facing weak or irrelevant opponents. Again props to manny for taking on Bradley. I expect a struggle vs the healthy and undefeated Desert Storm.
Great post Genaro! Along with Arturo Gatti, Cotto is one of the most dramatic fighters in recent memory. Cotto always gives the fans a great fight win or lose, and is a great example of what a proffesional boxer should be. I will be pulling for the Cotto upset as well. Im sorry to hear about your father and thanks for sharing your story.
You sure that cherry is ripe enough? joking, there is much worse cherry picking than this in the current day and age, I'm quite happy about this fight
This is actually one of the best opening posts I've ever seen on this forum. Lovely stuff. Very sorry to hear about your loss.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! I hate how a post about Cotto and how the appreciation for him helped bond Genaro G with his father turns into a Floyd vs. Pacquiao love hate thread. Who cares? There are other threads for that. My condolences Genaro G. Losses are hard but the memories of your father will keep him alive in you. As for Cotto, I too am a fan of his. Cotto's story is a great one. He is not invincible but has great courage that carries him through. Wish him the best on his fight with Floyd. War Cotto!
I liked your post man:good I've been a long time Cotto fan and am glad he finally got the fight. Although I'm pretty certain this will look somewhat like Mayweather-Gatti... i could be wrong, looking forward to it!!
