Watched the fight at least 15 times and can never core it for hagler. At the very best it's 7-5 Leonard. Don't know where people are coming from who believe hagler won the fight. He simply Doesn't land enough punches
I have watched the fight atleast 5 times,it was either 7 rounds to 5 for Leonard or a draw, never saw Hagler winning..
Thinking back, My friend and I saw the fight together. He was a Leonard fan, and I was a Hagler fan. He had Leonard winning by 2-points, and I had Hagler winning by 2-points. So I guess a neutral fan would have it a draw. As for performance, it could be said that Leonard over-achieved, so he deserved the win. And Hagler under-achieved, so he should be penalized. Hagler and his management should also be questioned for their foolish decision to have the fight in Las Vegas. Senor Pepe'
I have hagler every single time. Close fight though, but Hagler took it. His punches were harder and the more effective punches.. doing the most damage. I never understood how people were swayed by Leonard flurring at the end of each close round and landing hardly a thing, as him then taking that round... Never made sense to me.
leonard was landing most consistently in the first 6 though. hagler barely threw punches in the 1st half and certainly didn't outland leonard in the majority of rounds. i gave it to hagler on first viewing because of effectiveness but overall, i lean towards leonard's consistency rather than hagler's sporadic dominance
I had it 115-113 or 116-112, Leonard. Don't quite remember. In my opinion Hagler lost because he didn't do **** the first 4 rounds. It doesn't matter that he was more effective after that, he was too far behind.
marvin and his team really messed up in most aspects of this fight, location, no. rounds, and most crucially, the tactics he used in the ring. he should be a bigger man and admit he ballsed it right up, rather than moan about a close decision
This is going to turn out like pretty much every poll we've taken: About 55-45 in favor of Leonard. The fight was that close, but in most mass pollings I've caught, a small, small majority believe Leonard did enough.
