my cousin left these old gloves he used to have that I can take to the gym because I don't have any of my own, and the gym's gloves aren't in great condition. these gloves feel comfortable but they also feel a bit lighter than the big gloves they have at the boxing club, and I'm wondering if I'll be allowed to use these ones. If i bring these gloves to the gym are they acceptable to use on the bag and pads?

Yeah. You shouldn't be allowed to spar with them but on bags and pads they're alright.

Ok thanks. i wasn't sure because they're small and light, but still comfortable though.

They are good for pad work, you might want something with a bit more padding for the bag but they would work fine.

If you spar with them its because your trainer dosent like the other guys face.

If someone spars me with those gloves and hits me hard then I will make sure he never comes back. Only beginners use those and beginners are already dangerous enough as it is with their often wild flinging

Dangerous stuff. I prefer to use heavier gloves when i do bag work and pads not close to a fight. Then before the fight i train with lighter gloves, so that i get acclimated to the new speed.

those gloves are ok for once in a while when not training directly for a fight but for serious training they are too small and light no coach will let you use them during training for a fight
