Do you know if both undercard fights will be shown on HBO?

Martinez is not knocking out Macklin.

He's going to have to work his arse off to win a close but clear UD.
Martinez had a tough fight with Pavlik, who was a fully fledged MW. He then looked sensational until he came up against his next actual MW fighter in Darren Barker. It wasn't Barkers Boxing skills (which are better than Macklins) but his size that bothered Sergio.
Macklin is more physical than Barker, much stronger and better conditioned. His style also lends itself to him imposing his size on Sergio, who will need to circle and avoid the ropes at all costs.

Do not sleep on Macklin in this fight, Sergio is rightful favourite; but stranger things have happened.

Macklin will make Martinez work and push him hard, no doubt about that. But to win he will need to bring something different other than just pressure.

Sergio is a little too cute for just one strategy. Martinez is'nt getting any younger though and Macklin is coming to win.

The odds are ridiculous so i will be having a punt on Macklin.

    Yeah I agree.

It was pretty even fight. Where Sturm could been is easily to seen as winner with close decision.

    Bollocks.

It was a close fight that could have gone either way. Not a robbery by any means.

LOL. it was a 9 rounds to 3 fight and there is no way anybody who knows boxing can give Sturm more than those 3 rounds cause bottom line is in almost all rounds Sturm didnt punch at all and got outworked bigtime. log out. please. thanks

It's weird to me that people think performing well against Sturm makes one a credible threat to Martinez - a better fighter with a different style. :huh

btw. Macklin will either lose a close decision or win the fight against Martinez.

actually Sturm would be hell for Martinez. -because its a bad style matchup because Sturm has a super quick powerful jab and you saw in Martinez' last fight that he doesnt like a quick jab.
but there are 2 Sturms: one that doesnt throw punches, doesnt risk anything and doesnt throw punches (and relies on the paid judges). and the other one who punches a lot more and risks more-this version can beat Martinez without a doubt.

You think Sergio will end up putting on a clinic ala Dzindziruk, or will he he be in for a good bank like he was in against Barker?

I hope Macklin takes it but I don't think he's the one to beat Martinez, hopefully Martinez-Lee happens soon. I think Lee has everything to beat Martinez.
